Step-by-Step Learning | Screencast Tutorial
This project is a screencast guiding learners through publishing a Google Site, purchasing a GoDaddy domain, connecting the two, and forwarding the domain name. The tutorial was designed to make a technical process straightforward and easy to follow, addressing common points of confusion identified through feedback from peers and instructors.
Key design considerations included clear sequencing of steps, visual cues to guide attention, and narrated explanations to support learners with minimal prior experience. The screencast demonstrates practical application of instructional design principles in creating concise, learner-friendly technical content.
What This Project Demonstrates:
Ability to create clear, step-by-step technical tutorials
Application of visual and auditory guidance to support learner comprehension
Consideration of learner challenges to simplify complex processes
Tools Used: Camtasia, Canva, Storyline AI Voiceover
Additional Deliverables: Storyboard
Concept Explanation | Animated Learning Video
This project is a 3.5-minute animated explainer designed to help beginner photographers understand aperture and its relationship to depth of field. The project originated from a conversation with a professional photographer who was explaining the concept to me. While the explanation was technically accurate, I found it difficult to visualize how aperture settings affect depth of field. To make the concept more accessible for novice learners, I partnered with the photographer as a subject matter expert and developed an animated learning experience that demonstrates the relationship through visual examples.
The project was refined through multiple review cycles to improve both instructional clarity and content accuracy. Key design considerations included simplifying technical terminology, using animation to illustrate cause-and-effect relationships, and sequencing information to build understanding progressively.
What This Project Demonstrates:
SME collaboration and feedback incorporation
Script writing for learning content
Simplification of technical information for novice learners
Visual communication through animation
Iterative design and development
